Review on KeylessOption Replacement Shell for GQ43VT13T, GQ43VT17T, GQ43VT9T Keyless Entry Remote Control Car Key Fob by Mar Pacora

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The '99 Jeep XJ is a great body replacement. The battery pole can be removed from the old housing.

Bought a '99 Jeep Cherokee Sport that had a broken/worn key fob. The key fob was broken, the badges were badly rubbed with rubber and the case was filled with 20 year 'custom' lint etc. It worked fine but needed a new case. For $7 I decided to give this one away. Give it a try and overall have been very happy with it. It should probably be mentioned that in order for your old remote control to be of any value to you, it needs to work properly. Removing the battery connector from the old case: As many other reviewers have noted, the METAL BATTERY CONNECTOR is on the back of the case. But this metal clip is not glued in any way and can be easily (pictures attached) removed with a needle or the tip of a knife (carefully). The piece of metal is only held in place by two small tabs next to a plastic pin that comes out of the back of the case. Gently pry it away from the case and it can be pulled out (mine actually popped out of the old case). If slightly bent, it can be returned to its original position. Ideally, the manufacturer should have included this part, but again, $7. After removing the terminal, it is inserted directly into the back of the new housing. The rubber part with the buttons is much thicker than the original and flexes a lot less when pressed. It almost feels like not pressing them at all, but the remote control and the car respond. Works perfectly. The case is new to me so I can't speak to durability, but the plastic in the version I received feels almost as thick/solid as the original. Hope that helps! I was a little skeptical at first due to the lack of a battery connector, but I decided to give it a try and change it. I'm glad I did.
