Love it in Pastels

I'm new to oil pastels and pastels in general. I think I've found a new love for this stuff. The price is great for those who just want to start playing around with them to see if you like pastels or not. I also believe that they will please the professional. They are very pigmented. They go together so well. The color palette in this set is great for a variety of things including plants, animals, landscapes and people. I didn't even use pastel paper, just black art paper to draw the eyes and I really enjoyed my drawing. . It started with a very quick sketch to try out their colors and their ability to blend. I was just having so much fun with them I couldn't stop. I wanted to see what they can do! I can't wait to use them for something I spend more time on. So smooth and pigmented. This is very good for layering. I've added patterns on black drawing paper and lighter colored paper for reference. Light paper is thin, cheap watercolor paper, but it's used to give you an idea of the colors. In the next photo - dry and wet paper on very thin cheap watercolor paper. I can't imagine what they can do with a good watercolor. I was amazed at my three-minute leaf drawing. I wonder what happens when you spend a little time with it. I can't wait to find out. On the sheet I used colors 400, 458, 452 and 459. That is interesting. If this helped please let me know by giving me a thumbs up, I'd appreciate it.
