Just unpacked this stand and I have to say it will definitely support a 17" laptop with no problem. the heaviest of all laptops. I don't want to think that it will be flimsy and easy to adjust as that is its purpose destroys it and potentially becomes extremely annoying. That. As for moving from place to place, why fold, just move it to where it is set up. Not a problem I can see any time in the future. As for the negative reviews, can I disagree with them as my personal opinion is that people should learn to accept what is difficult to change as this is a very SMALL issue that should not be mentioned in a negative tone Are people that weak that they CANNOT adjust this stand? If that's the case, take an undamaged prybar and mount it where you want to adjust it to your needs. Use Your imagination to figure out what to use. I would definitely buy this stand again if I lose it or it gets stolen.
