I checked the underwire diameter and mine fits about 1/4 inch but I didn't take into account that I wear full coverage bras so there is a molded foam cup triangle at the top. that won't fit without a bit of rolling/tucking. I will still use them and they came out of the washer in the same shape as they came in. I didn't have any major creases or dents. in cups. When they state the size that fits them, they don't take the size of the strap into account. My bras are 42DD. Underwire size for the same cup size increases with wearer size. I'm sure many women know this trick that you can wear either 36C or 34D to keep the same hole diameter by increasing the number you drop by one letter. A demi cup bra in 42DD is probably fine, but a full cup bra will require you to tuck the bodice (where the straps attach) under the rest of the cup for it to fit.
