Review on πŸ“Ό Roxio Easy VHS to DVD for Mac: Convert VHS, Hi8, and V8 Videos to DVD or Digital Format [Mac Disc] by Noe Spooner

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Digitize analog video at a fraction of what you would pay for it.

Some reviewers noted that Roxio has not updated this product to work with the latest versions of Mac OS. My old version stopped working with Mojave and after. I repurchased this model and can confirm that it works well with Mojave through Catalina. I haven't upgraded to Big Sur, but I suspect it will continue to work. Easy to use, the software is simple. If you have old videotapes that need to be converted to digital files (your tapes die a slow but certain death), this is an easy and inexpensive way. It's a lot cheaper than services like the Legacy Box. You just set it up, turn on the tape in the VCR, hit the record button in the computer program and come back a few hours later and you're done. I use the auto-stop recording function (you can choose from different VHS tape playback modes). The quality is the best you can expect. Some have complained about the video quality, but you'll never get 4K or even 720p from old analog video shot at 480p. If you look at the video recording technology of yesteryear, you can't compare it to the video your iPhone records today. The captured video is just as good as the original. I am happy with this purchase.
