I wrote to Reliable Corp. immediately after posting this review and received a response from them within three hours. They replaced my iron as a courtesy! They advise me not to use a stand. Simply place it on the silicone-lined case that comes with your purchase. I am now a happy camper and will be using Reliable Corp. for future purchases. Below is the original review. I bought this iron to use when I'm quilting duvets and need to iron out the seams. Love it for this purpose and works great. Generates a lot of steam. I hated giving this a 1 star rating for durability. Excellent iron except for the weak stand. I only had it for two days before it fell on the floor twice and shattered the case. The iron still works, but I'm afraid the crack will eventually affect its function. I plan to write to Reliable to let them know that the quilting world will probably love this as much as I do. BUT he needs a much better stand. :( I have tried unsuccessfully to upload two pictures to better explain what I am talking about.
