It works half as it should. although I'm not impressed. lots of soot washed out from the bottom of the cartridge. I don't feel like I need to flush no matter how many times I flush before using the filter. Years ago I heard from a local pet store owner that someone was packaging charcoal and selling it as charcoal or charcoal. This is not one of the culprits for sure. My water seems to be turning cloudy gray and I never want to wash it off in a filter. I have had aquariums for about 40 years and am very familiar with charcoal etc. I thought I would try this one but it didn't work. I have a better product that beats this 100-1 PURE.
