I wasn't sure it was worth spending $30 on a shaker but I use my shaker 4-6 times a day. That's a lot of shaking and cleaning of components. This mug is easy to clean, basically cleaning it like a regular mug with a lid. The protein or pre/fast holder is convenient and makes life easier on the go. The mug looks pretty cool and feels solid. You can tell it will hold up and not fall apart on you. I also like it because it mixes things up a lot better and you don't get debris on the bottom of something that isn't fully mixed. Also ensures that the protein mixes very well and makes it more pliable. I've read several reviews that the blender is plastic and if it holds up then no. First, yes it's plastic, but there's nothing wrong with that. Shouldn't be a problem unless you have the cleaning tool stuck in it when washing. Then it can break at some point. Now one of the biggest questions I've seen is can you mix ice in it? The answer to that question is yes, but I wouldn't try thicker ice. I have an ice cream maker that makes ice cream like sonic. After mixing the drink, I add a scoop or two of this ice cream and then lightly press the button and it mixes at about 50% power. Works great and I'm not worried about it breaking the blender. This type of ice breaks easily compared to hard ice, likely damaging the blender. Overall, this is a great blender and well worth the money. You'll get some comments about laziness, and if you don't use the shaker multiple times a day then it's probably laziness, but who cares if you like it.
