I am very disappointed with this product. The capacity, large dig hole, and overall appearance were big pluses and the reasons I bought it. But that's where the positive reviews end. Eventually, when I started using it, two major flaws became apparent: 1) The large ring that secures the lid hinge assembly to the canister came loose and slid down when you open the canister, which is quite annoying when it comes time is to close the lid. This ring is not adjustable (no turnbuckle to adjust tightness). 2) The silicone O-ring on the lid is very loose on the lid. Therefore, it tends to fall off when you open the container. The combination of this, combined with the issue of the canister ring slipping, makes closing the canister a real pain. It was so frustrating that I stopped using it and replaced it with a different type/brand canister. I would not recommend this product.
