Update 2 2021: I have purchased many of these spindles over the years. Really good. I have very few problems with older discs not playing 100%. Actually I don't remember what happened, maybe I just haven't crossed it yet. However, an average of 1-2 out of 100 fail. So that's great IMO. The only downside is that they spin a bit louder than the value discs. I would still buy the disk with the value if I could find it. Half price ($10 for 50) and never had a bad experience. They also sound quieter in external burners. But both are good choices. Update: I've bought more of these and have better luck. I would say an average of one to two failures per 100. What impressed me the most was how durable and scratch resistant they are! First Rating: Not bad, but not as good as the old cheap drives I can't find anymore. I'm not sure I would buy them again. IMHO they are very heavy. Not scratched at all, but a lot more bad discs
