Review on πŸ”₯ Heat Storm HS-1500-OTR Infrared Heater: Efficient 1500-Watt Heating Solution by Bill Russett

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Two made it in my 2 car garage. Not HOT, but warmer.

They work well in my garage here at Co. Kal. But I have two and they are 7ft tall mounted on adjustable/posable arms that allow me to move them like these do offered for $90. But mine can easily be moved to another location in the work area on one of the extra mounts I made. Infrared heaters don't heat the air, but they do heat objects in front of them that can warm the air a little. And they are focused/spotty instead of having a wide heating area. This is true of every infrared heater I've seen and used over the years. I expect them to do a good job of heating the workspace and items on the table I'm working on. And the bottom is projected with less effect. Now when I open the garage door and the breeze blows it doesn't help at all unless it's directly below them and on the table. They would be very disappointing if used outdoors. When it's really cold, I turn it on 30 minutes before work. How cold it doesn't get here in Southern California. You're right, but then again, at 50, I can barely use tools in my cold hands, so I guess it's all relative. They come with an adjustable mounting plate so you can mount them to a wall or beam and adjust the angle up and down. You need an upgraded left/right swivel mount. UPDATE - one started humming loudly. It's a kind of piece of metal vibrating against another. Too bad, but I'll find it and fix it.
