Review on πŸ”₯ Ramblewood GC1-28P: ETL Certified Single Burner Gas Cooktop - LPG/Propane Gas by Payton Stovall

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great little ovens. Once you plug them in and learn how to use them.

This is the third oven I have purchased from Ramblewood (one GC1-28P and two GC2-48P). All three hooked up to 20-pound propane tanks for RV use. These are great little ovens but difficult to get working and have a learning curve with use and all 3 were the same. First, their connection. The fittings on the cooktop are not 1/2"NPT like they say. I don't know what threads they have as nothing fits them except for the fittings that come with the cooktops. In order I would have them This is how to connect to the propane tank: Cooker -> L connection included -> 1/2" NPT connection for torch included -> Gas appliance flex line -> Check valve from 1/2" to 3/8" -> Standard 3 Grill Hose / 8" -> Propane Regulator -> 20lb Propane Tank. I don't know if this is the correct way to hook them up, but it's the only way to hook up a propane tank to the stoves. As an aside, I also had to replace the gaskets, which they include in their fittings. Again, this is not a standard gas stove item as these are the paper gaskets used for automotive oil plugs and can be found in ACE hardware priced at $0.39 USD (you need two, one for each adjustment.) Also, although the instructions say no yellow tef To use lonband on these fittings I had to glue them. metal, not brass) and flowed like a sieve without this ribbon. And like I said above, these are not standard fittings. So if they break you'll have to call Ramblewood for a replacement (which they provide free of charge (thanks Ramblewood!). Now that you've got your cooker hooked up, it's time to learn how to use it. Say We just know that out of the box the cooker is on high to medium until you set the flame to low Screw under the handle to reduce the flame It's easy (just light the stove, turn it to low, remove the knob, put a screwdriver in the hole and turn the screw until the flame is reduced as much as you want it not to go now you have a low setting and you won't light anything.but still wished I, I would have a real flame range with the knob, imagine the knob is down at 6 o'clock and up at 9 o'clock, you're actually just using 7 to 7 :3 0. Anything below 7 is just low and anything above 7 :30 is h oh I don't know if this can be adjusted (the bottom of the oven is permanently sealed so you can't access the inside to adjust the air valve like a regular oven) or if these ovens are just like that, but even the slightest twist of the button can make the difference between boiling water and not even boiling water. I managed to get over it, but it would be nice if it worked the way it was supposed to. Those two things aside, these are great stoves. A little pricey for what you get but they are cheaper than other 12 inch cookers on the market (Miele, Wolf, DeLonghi, Summit etc). And for reference, boiling 1 inch of water in an 11 inch All Clad pan on high power compared to 11 minutes on an electric stove for the same pan.
