Review on πŸ’» Wireless Bluetooth V5.0 Keyboard for Surface Pro with Two-Button Trackpad, Rechargeable Battery by Terrance Fisher

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good keyboard, great customer service

I bought this keyboard to replace another third-party Surface Pro keyboard. The other lasted a little less than 2 years and then started to fail. So I didn't want to buy another one. This one looks much better, fits and the finish is excellent. It was very easy to put together and worked great with my Surface. Well I don't think it's perfect. I couldn't figure out how to use Alt-F4 to close a window (a longstanding Windows shortcut) since the media controls are bound to F4, as is the FN key to make it behave like a regular F4, but it did doesn't work for me, that just activated the media controls. But that was a small problem. The only other problem is more my pet nuisance. I don't like holding buttons to turn something on or off. For a delicate item like this, a toggle switch would be better. The big problem was that it stopped working completely just a day after the return window. Won't turn on, won't charge. One day it worked, the next day it didn't. I contacted Revain support. They were extremely useless. It took them 20 minutes to ask me if I had tried a different charger (the charger and cable worked fine with my phone, which I had already told them). Eventually they gave me a link to the seller and I went from there. The seller was VERY responsive and read everything I wrote without asking me any questions I had already answered in my original email. They sent replacements free of charge. I've had the replacement for a few days now and it works really well (there's still an issue with alt-F4, but that's a bit finicky). So this item gets 4 stars for the actual product and 5 for customer service.
