Launch's Creader 319 OBD2 scanner should be in every shade tree mechanic's toolbox as it pays for itself the first time you use it. I bought this to replace a 20 year old reader that is a bit dated. This scanner searches in modes 1 to 10 (0A) and covers all OBD problems. The built-in DTC lookup table eliminates searching the internet for DTC definitions, although some specific vehicle manufacturers' codes still require some searching. I particularly like the color screen and very easy to read display, which puts it ahead of many similarly priced scanners. The device fits in one hand and the control buttons are easy to reach with the same hand. All in all, this is probably the best scanner you can find for the price.
