very handy? No, it hurts my ears after a while. The good news is that it only took about a minute to realize that it was the alternator bearing that was making that annoying whine. After all, this thing is cheap, has a lifetime warranty, and it does the job, and I can't take a star off for inconvenience. Maybe I have weird ears?
