Review on πŸ”Œ StarTech.com Active DisplayPort to VGA Adapter - 1080p Video, DP Certified, Latching DP Connector (DP2VGA2) by Marco Cervantes

This is the only active adapter you need to install 3 monitors with AMD Eyefinity

If you have all the other hardware this adapter will help you get started with a 3 display/monitor system. I have an MSI graphics card with one Radeon chip AMD 7770. It's becoming increasingly difficult to keep track of all the possible incarnations that can arise when the same chip is present on so many different graphics cards. There are several different versions of the MSI Radeon HD7770 card alone.. My MSI card has a full-size DisplayPort, HDMI, and DVI-D output, so there are three total outputs (and you'll be using all 3 for a 3-display Eyefinity setup.) You can HDMI to HDMI for one monitor, DVI-D to DVI-D for another and this StarTech to DisplayPort adapter connect your graphics card with a VGA cable that connects to the VGA input of your monitor Your 3 monitors avail has an HDMI input, a DVI-D input and a VGA input. I use three Asus VS247H-P monitors. Thin bezels, good price, great reviews, and all three entrances listed. You'll need the latest AMD drivers and Eyefinity-enabled software to get up and running with ease. So it's a good budget adapter that will work with an Eyefinity 3 display configured for monitors without DisplayPort inputs.

Pros

Cons
  • Unbelievable price
