Review on ๐Ÿš— ACDelco GM Original Equipment 560-547 Rear Shock Absorber: Superior Performance and Quality by Shane Black

Only buy standard shock absorbers if your vehicle is equipped with the FE3 sport package!

Let me start by saying that my HHR '06 has the FE3 Sport suspension package and not the FE1 Soft package which I didn't know I'd ever had front Monroe Struts and rear shock absorbers ordered. The first pair of rear Monroe shocks were awful, like they had 100,000 miles on them, the rear of the car rocked too much. I guaranteed them and the second pair was slightly better but the ride was too soft and there were still too many jumps or two. After searching the web for HHR and rear shock absorbers, I found that the FE3 Sport uses different shock absorbers. The Monroe catalog doesn't ask for the FE1 Soft or FE3 Sport, just whether it's an LS or LT. I ended up ordering this ACDelco 560-547 and now it's back to the original rear suspension. My conclusion is that the shocks listed in the Monroe catalog are for the FE1 Soft package. Conclusion: If you have the FE3 Sport package, you only buy OEM ACDelco shock absorbers and struts, save a lot of time and only do the job once. This might not be the place for it, but the packaging on both of these shocks was terrible. The people who pack and ship these items need to learn how to do it right. I'm surprised they arrived safe and sound.
