Review on πŸ’ͺ Metal Rack Mount Power Strip with 6 Outlets, 6 FT Long Extension Cord, Surge Protection - Heavy Duty Power Strip for Workshop, Commercial Garage - 15A/125V/1875W, Black by Jon Bishop

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Decent power supply (see details). Recommended

I made a mistake when I selected the Kungfuking 6-Outlet Power Strip, a heavy-duty metal wall outlet with a 6-foot extension . I didn't look closely, saw the rack mounting flanges and ordered a 4-post half-rack PDU. The problem is that the Kungfuking PDU has the correct flanges but the width is not 19 inches! Obviously this is my fault. The device itself is quite simple. The housing is an aluminum profile with painted steel end caps. The power button/breaker lights up. The cord is fine, but I think you might need 14/3 (rather than 16/3) if you plan to draw 15 amps all day. As for me, I just use a PDU with a small AVR/UPS on the bottom of my rack - and I don't really draw more than about 5 amps through the PDU, so that's fine with me. In true PDU style, you don't have surge protection, but why pay for a feature that isn't as good as what your AVR will have, right? Back to the width of the unit, it's 12 inches and the flanges come out an additional inch each. I simply attached it to one side of the back rail with the provided bolts and screws. but it works just fine. If you're looking for a real PDU, this is a decent unit. If it's going to be 19 inches, you'll have to look elsewhere. If you don't plan on hooking it up to an AVR/mains air conditioner, you should probably buy something with a surge protector.
