Works as described for HVAC

Like others, I watched several installation videos hoping to find a video specific to my Dometic 15,000 btu Brisk II. I did not order a set for installation, but bought a set of crimp connectors. When the unit arrived there was a QR code on a well printed instruction sheet to scan the user manual which my AC unit had in color. It also lists the tools and connectors needed for the installation, most of which I already have. If you don't want to buy a small supply of connectors and cable ties, buy a mounting kit. I removed the cover and the top of the black foam mold underneath to find the wires. I found a chart (photo attached) and printed it out on pages 12-15 to have with me on the roof. It was easier to print out the instructions and staple them together than trying to look through them on your iPhone while standing on the roof of an RV in the sun. Once I found and removed the small electrical box cover, I found a small plug. My model did not have a starter cap as indicated in the diagram and instructions what may be now. After reviewing the instructions, I inserted the four wires from the EasyStart into the small hole where all the other wires go into the control box, and fed enough wire through to be easy to work with, so that I ended up with only one few inches left in the box when I was done. . The EasyStart came with right angle connectors on the orange and white wires so I didn't have to install them as directed from the kit. The hardest part of the whole installation was removing the EasyStart cable from the heat exchanger fan blades and then routing the black cable back to the blue compressor cable connector. After everything was connected, I put the lid back on and started the learning process. Following the instructions, I noted the time between turning the compressor off and on, and it turned out to be a lot shorter than the advertised 3 minutes - more like 90 seconds. TIP: Make sure your thermostat is NOT set to AU (automatic fan), but make sure you set the fan to LOW and start and stop the air conditioner manually using the thermostat's on/off button. Compressor activation can be heard better when the fan is set to low speed. As soon as I did that, the air conditioning turned on within 3 minutes as described. As stated in the product description, the compressor actually starts smoothly and is significantly quieter than before. A NOTICE. I always connected my AC camper to the 15A GFI home circuit because it never tripped the circuit breaker. I left it on the same circuit while going through the learning process. Once I was sure the air conditioning was working, I connected my 30Amp plug to my Champion 3400W (IG) Dual Fuel Inverter/Generator and started it up. After a few seconds I switch the IG to ECO mode and then restart the AC. I estimate that the generator power is around 2000 watts in ECO mode, but it turns on automatically when needed. Estimated AC draw with EasyStart is likely to be around 8-10A or 1000-1200W at start, giving more than enough current for AC operation. The air conditioning started and after a few seconds the compressor turned on while the IG stayed in ECO mode. I stopped and turned the AC on a few more times while on IG and it ran through the marked cycle times. I am very happy with this device as it does what it is supposed to do. Highly recommended if you want to run your camper on a 15A home network or when roaming. I definitely recommend this product.
