I just bought a 2021 Toyota Camry and the center console is a gaping chasm when you flip up the armrest! This compartment fits on top leaving the USP ports available. You can store things in the console under the shelf when you don't use them often, and keep other essentials such as registration, pens, sunglasses, etc. neatly in the shelf. Shame on Toyota for not offering this!
