Review on Mainichi Koh Kyara Deluxe Aloeswood Incense by Kristina Kajer

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Traditional incense. incense sticks. Not perfume.

This is my favorite incense stick so far. I've tried many traditional Japanese ones. It's not at all like your grumpy champa dudes. It's much thinner and doesn't really come across as "Wow! How good it smells." It's more of a quiet sanctified scent. I'm pretty sensitive to smells. Even the most expensive shoyidos (which I really like) give me a bit of a headache and stuffy nose when I burn an entire stick. And they are not at all. I can burn a few sticks a day and I'm fine. I use them as offerings on my Buddhist altar for recitation, meditation and contemplation, not just to make the room smell nice. But it is still very pleasant to smell in the room. I mainly use Shoyido (Golden Pavilion) fragrances in the living room when I want them to smell really good for guests and these for private time.
