Great scent, great price!

Nippon Kodo is one of the most common "everyday incense sticks" used in Japan. Mainchi-ko incense is burned daily in almost every home and home temple. These are ubiquitous scents and I definitely associate them with Japan. These are "kyara" (aloe) incense sticks that are earthier than your standard mainichi-ko (sandalwood) sticks. I prefer sandalwood because it's lighter, but I really like this one too. I like variety! Highly recommended!

not as good as before.

This is the third time I use this product, the second time I buy it on Amazon. The product becomes more affordable each time, which is accompanied by a noticeable drop in quality. This time the box is filled to the brim (that never happened, there was always some kind of backlash). The sticks have a pungent smell when you open the box and give you a touch of burning when you use them. Suddenly my cat won't appreciate the new batch. Still good incense sticks for the price, the box will last…

Great scent, great deal!

The Kyara fragrance is definitely in demand. These incense sticks are definitely a rounded version of the agarwood scent: it's sweetened with other spices (mainly sandalwood) and definitely has lots of musky and masculine tones. I can tell there is agarwood in it, but remember it's a mix so if you're looking for pure agarwood/chiaru/jinko it's not. This is definitely an amazing fragrance and I will be using it very often! Just know what you are buying! I personally love this scent and can't…

Smells good, burns well.

I like it. Smells good, burns well. It's not cloying unless you're using it in a tiny space, and the smell lingers for a while after burning but isn't overpowering. I'm not an incense snob so take this with a grain of salt compared to some of the "expert" reviews on here. If you're used to burning cheaper pre-made incense sticks, they don't have a small wooden stick sticking out at the end - if you try to use the typical long, flat incense holder, you'll end up with a small piece of unburned…

"Chiara " is misleading, it's Jinko incense

The product is advertised as "Chiara" on Revain, but "Chiara" is a premium incense, very rare and quite expensive; This product is not a "kyara" but an incense of the "jinkō" variety which is more resinous and therefore smokier with a heavier aroma and is best used outdoors. Indoors, this incense can be overwhelming. The inner packaging (in Japanese) makes it clear that it is a blend of "jinkō" aloe and "byakudan" sandalwood. The outer packaging says "tokusen" (specially selected), which is…

Traditional incense. incense sticks. Not perfume.

This is my favorite incense stick so far. I've tried many traditional Japanese ones. It's not at all like your grumpy champa dudes. It's much thinner and doesn't really come across as "Wow! How good it smells." It's more of a quiet sanctified scent. I'm pretty sensitive to smells. Even the most expensive shoyidos (which I really like) give me a bit of a headache and stuffy nose when I burn an entire stick. And they are not at all. I can burn a few sticks a day and I'm fine. I use them as…

No Kyara Agarwood Yet Wonderful Scent

The aroma of this incense is wonderful. I have used real Aquilaria Crassna incense heated on an electric smoker and I know what real Agarwood smells like. Chiara is the most sought after species of agarwood and the most expensive, costing thousands of dollars per gram. This Kyara Deluxe fragrance does not come close to the aroma of an actual agar tree, not even a Kyara agar tree. However, the scent is charming, with hints of real agarwood among other soft notes. The scent is soft and not sharp…

really cool. on room fragrances

So I heard about aloe and was intrigued. So I did a little research and found this cheaper set and the more expensive .http://www. amazon.com/Kayuragi-Incense-Aloeswood/dp/B0015DHI9C/ref=cm_aya_orig_subj. Of the two, my favorite is the Kayuragi, which is much heavier and more beautiful overall. However, I will use it every day due to the price and the fact that it smells AMAZING. you get a big box that should last a long time, the aloe vera scent cannot be explained, very light, royal, haiku…
