We used this for our Halloween display to light part of the porch that our regular porch light couldn't reach. The warm white ended up being best for that particular scene, and I wish we'd been able to dim a little more than it was capable of, but overall it was great. I also ended up using this as a bright light for when I had to work on props outside in the middle of the night. The light has a really large spread, which was great for when I was working, and is perfect for when we need to light broader spots in our yard. For this year's Halloween scene we had it set up in the corner of our porch ceiling, with a shield so we didn't blind our trick or treaters when they turned around. Didn't notice any heat from it. The remote is a little hilarious with it's colored pictures to represent the color you're chosing, but it was certainly easy to decipher. The range of colors was great too, since you could choose from presets on the remote AND adjust those presets to get just the right color.My only real complaint is I wish the plug had been longer. It makes the light fit nicely in to a smaller box for storage, but it really hampers where you can put it if you don't have access to an extension cord. Our porch has about a 10 foot ceiling, and the cord ended up stopping about halfway down. It would have been helpful if the cord had at least reached the floor. If you're setting it up at ground level to point straight up or way way outward (so you aren't blinding people going by), this less of a problem.
