Fast KVM Switch with more I/O ports, mounting options and wired/wireless remote control options

I have a MT-VIKI 8-port HDMI KVM Switch for Control 5- Bought laptops after noticing low performance results with more expensive solutions or several combined separate solutions that were more economical but with poor performance. 5 Laptops included - 3 Apple MacBook Pros (models 2015, 2016, 2018) - 2 HP ProBooks (models 2019, 2020) - Keyboard: Mechanical keyboard Keychron C2 USB C connected to KVM switch - Video: Ultrawide 34 Dell P3421W 4K- Display - Mouse : Logictech MX Master wireless mouse with USB wireless transmitter connected to KVM switch - OWC Thunderbolt 3 Dock (connected to 2016 Apple MacBook Pro via USB C) - Web - Logitech HD USB camera connected to KVM switch - Aukey USB Hub Connected to KVM Switch === Use with USB-C Laptops To use this switch with my 2018 Apple MacBook Pro, I needed a USB-C to HDMI to USB adapter to enable HDMI /USB KVM cable. ConnectivityThis adapter has multiple I/O ports for connecting up to 8 computers to the ports on the back of the switch using the included HDMI/USB cables. On the front of the Switch, I use the two front USB Type-A ports to connect a keyboard and a Logitech wireless mouse transmitter. Port 3 USB, Micro USB Type B, is used to connect the supplied wired remote control. The panel also features an infrared (IR) signal receiver for use with the supplied battery powered wireless remote control. The speed depends on the computer settings (sleep mode, sleep mode, etc.) for the channel of the connected computer you are switching to. I had no video issues when using this product on my 5 laptops. === Wired/Wireless Remote Controls It's very convenient to have wired and wireless remote controls that allow you to place the switch almost anywhere above, under the table and the computers, or next to it, as long as the KVM switch can reach all connected devices ( computers, keyboards, display, etc.) with the provided HDMI/USB cables and any other cable length limitations. The LED switches are fairly bright, which can be good or bad. or high. The buttons on the wired remote protrude slightly from the surface of the remote and may require additional pressure to activate the switch. The mechanical buttons on the KVM device itself protrude a bit more and, oddly enough, require the same amount of Re pressure to activate the switch. There is a small case where I want to use a switch to display video from one computer on an external display while using the keyboard and mouse to control another computer. I was able to do that with separate USB and HDMI switches using the previous hack. But that's such an extreme case that it doesn't bother me. Good sign. This experience is almost transparent and works seamlessly with my workflow.

Pros
  • KVM Switches
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
