This is definitely a unique KVM. I don't think this is an industry standard, but bundling USB and HDMI ports into a single cable is at least one way to minimize the cable clutter that comes with connecting so many systems. I have a MT-VIKI 8-port HDMI KVM Switch for Control 5- Bought laptops after noticing low performance results with more expensive solutions or several combined separate solutions that were more economical but with poor performance. 5 Laptops included - 3 Apple MacBook Pros (models 2015, 2016, 2018) - 2 HP ProBooks (models 2019, 2020) - Keyboard: Mechanical keyboard Keychron C2 USB C connected to KVM switch - Video: Ultrawide 34 Dell P3421W 4K- Display - Mouse : Logictech MX Master wireless mouse

We were skeptical, but this changed our mind. I hooked it up to a Linux NUC bank using a wireless KB/trackpad combo and two flash drives. Of course, every system works with a wireless CP, but two external USB drives can also be quickly and easily integrated into the system. I suspect ejecting disks before disconnecting would be awkward. We will move from Kinevo and IOGear HDMI switches to another MT-VIKI 8-port KVM.
