The polished tips were scratched when I first opened the box. But some are mostly gone. The bolt/clip didn't want to be over tightened on my muffler so I cut it off and welded the tips to the muffler. So that he does not fall or someone does not take them. You know, the most important thing is the welds, they hold, but some spots were black and didn't shine. I'm not sure about rust because I haven't had it for so long, but that's something you can't fix. But I like them and they look great on the car.
