Unfortunately the brush and the yellow parts for the vacuum cleaner are much softer. I think the brush works on hard surfaces but I don't think it works on carpets. We have both so we'll see how it works. I'll give an update once we run the vacuum a few times. Update: The brushes are NOT good. The brushroll that came with the vacuum was much stiffer and coped better with the carpet. These brushrolls get constantly clogged with hair and the like and you can't remove the end like you can with a shark brushroll. I decided to splurge and buy real shark brushrolls thinking I'd be happier. NO. I was sent the same brushes!? Soft brush rollers that almost do not affect the carpet. If you have hard wood or tile floors, I'm sure softer brushrolls will work just fine. Don't waste your money on Shark brushes. They only have good/bad ones like this one. Sad day.
