Quality Issues, Slightly Smaller Than Original Pack

Let me first start off by saying that I had already purchased another one of their packs a couple years ago, specifically their large non-zippered bag. That bag worked out great and I loved everything about it. Someone at work however pointed out this bag also had a version with a zipper that allows you to transform it into a more standard two-strap backpack. I thought this was great considering I sometimes have to carry heavy loads but there are however, a few issues I have with this bag.First off, Quality. As you can see in the images, the zipper in the front compartment had just simply come off. The stitching above that had already started to come undone and one night I was simply zipping this back up and the zipper just came right off. That's when I noticed that on the inside, the thread holding the fabric of the zipper in place had already started to come undone as well. Please note that the only 3 items I place in this pouch are my glasses case, my ear buds and my garage door opener, none of which have any kind of sharp edges. (Please note that with my first pack, I did not have any of these problems. It's still perfectly usable but was starting to look a little ratty, hence why I bought this pack)Secondly, the Build. This pack, based on the description, is the same size as the pack that I got 2 years ago. However the straps, when zipped up to be used as a shoulder sling, seem to be a bit on the small size. My other pack which doesn't have a zipper, is nice and loose. On this pack though, it's definitely shorter which is a shame (I compared strap lengths). I like to use the shoulder sling because it allows for easier access to things like say, my sunglasses or garage door opener. So if you're husky like me, this should be something to be taken into consideration.Continuing on with the straps, when using it as a shoulder sling you have to take one of the straps and clip it onto the same ring as the other. When doing this however, the strap never really quite lines up right and is always twisted one way or the other (imagine a seat belt that's been twisted around once) and while it's a fairly small niggle it can definitely feel a little awkward sometimes. As for the front compartment itself (where the zipper broke off) the opening for it is smaller than on the previous pack I owned. I uploaded 2 images for comparison (Please note on the brown pack I had to use a safety pin to simulate it being sewn up properly) I always had to wiggle and somewhat struggle to get my hand into the compartment on the brown pack whereas on the grey pack I can easily slip my entire hand in there with no problem whatsoever. This never would have been something that would make or break this for me but if you're like me and you're purchasing this pack after having already purchased their other non-zipper pack, please be aware this may be an issue you will have to face as well.Aside from those issues, this really isn't a bad pack to have. I would have given it a 4-star review if it were not for the fact that the stitching seems to just be unraveling itself to the point where the zipper will just simply come off. This pack can certainly hold a lot of things given its relatively small size and the fact that you can change it from a shoulder sling to a proper backpack is pretty cool as well. I do hope that I just happened to get a bag that just had a few quality issues and isn't a more widespread issue. I think I will just simply go back to using my older grey pack for a while longer.
