The elastic waistband is perfect for my two grandchildren, 8 and 9 years old.
For the last few years I have bought the same shorts for my grandchildren. They love them (no belt loops, so no belt needed!). I love how they hold up throughout the school year if they don't outgrow them lol. Nothing can go wrong with these shorts.
