I connected it to a Macbook Pro 2015, which worked fine with an old LCD monitor (1080p). This Viewsonic monitor connects via DisplayPort. The audio output from the monitor goes to my powered speakers. The monitors themselves had a few dead pixels (I bought two and both have dead pixels in different places) that I decided to live with. The real problem for me is that the monitor wakes up every few minutes. (even if the computer is asleep and all wake-ups are disabled in Mac preferences). Monitor loops on all inputs (2 HDMI and 1DP). It puts every typed name in a corner and goes back to sleep after a few seconds. This is annoying for two reasons: 1. When the monitor wakes up, it does something to the audio output. My speakers (which are always on but silent) make a thumping noise that startles my cat and anyone not used to it. The light generated by the monitor waking up and going through each entrance is annoying when I'm sleeping in a dark room. I wanted to return it but I think Viewsonic charges a restocking fee of 15% etc even within 30 days. Also, when I wanted to return, they gave me a shipping label to send back two boxes of monitors. I have no idea how to find a box big enough to hold two of these.
