Let me first say that this cutlery set is beautiful. I really love it so far. It's durable, has a nice clean black matte finish and just looks good. I had no problems with the coating peeling off (although I'm still skeptical). With that said, here's my problem: CHECK EACH PART FOR DAMAGE ON ARRIVAL - the packaging needs serious help. Each bowl is packed in a separate plastic bag and attached to a similar bowl with a rubber band. The problem is that cutlery rattles so much in the box when shipped (we all know how badly packages are treated) that by the time it reaches you it's scratched and damaged because there's no cushion around the sharp ends. Forks or knives, and they scratch spoons quite aggressively. I received 2 sets which I had to ask for replacements which I checked and made sure I had the full 20 pieces that were not damaged or I replaced what was. This is not cheap cutlery (although not very expensive) so even the smallest scratch will not occur. In general, if it's not damaged, it's great! Protective packaging would be an advantage!
