Inexpensive way to get the most out of your old DSLR

You can spend $300 on a complete trainer for your old $300 DSLR or you can save some money and still get the most out of your old and bulkier cameras . Yes, it takes some time and patience to set everything right and get a good balance, but it's worth investing about 20 minutes to find a good middle ground. In general, the heavier your camera, the lower you should place the counterweight. The threaded nut can be moved to give you more options for mounting the camera, as the position of the camera lenses sometimes shifts the center of gravity of the camera. Overall this is a good product for the price. It's by no means a professional tool, but it's also priced right. The metal parts are anodized which is nice although the edges can be sanded down a little so they aren't as sharp in some places. If you are looking for an inexpensive way to get the most out of your old and heavy camera, I would recommend this product.
