Parrot nutrition is a very complex subject. Almost everyone agrees that good food should be part of a parrot's diet. And Zupreem is the brand I've seen most recommended. I have a Goffin Cockatoo and a Cockatoo and wanted to feed them the same pellets. My cockatoo will accept and eat multiple brands but when I got my eclectus he started flapping his wings when given colored pellets. I've read that Eclectus are very sensitive to granules and especially artificial colors. But she didn't touch Zupreem Naturals. And she LOVES peanuts. So I decided to try NutBlend. And it's a hit! Both birds are eating very well and the wing flapping has stopped completely. Both prefer smaller, lighter-colored croquettes, with the least popular being the large, dark, banana-shaped croquettes. I do not know why. As far as I know, they are the same in taste and nutritional value. So sometimes they throw them away, but if you have a bird I don't think that will surprise you. I don't think pellets should make up 100% of the diet, but they should make up about half of it and be supplemented with a variety of vegetables, fruits, grains and other healthy bird food.
