New smaller pellet size means less waste.

My two African Grays love this thing, but as any parrot owner knows, much of what a parrot puts in its beak to eat ends up on the bottom of the cage, which is a waste of money. Some of these pellets were quite large, especially the large, brown, banana-shaped pieces that looked like Brazil nuts. Zupreem appears to have made smaller pellets that are more appropriately sized to fit other pellets.

Please check the size of the pieces before purchasing.

I usually buy Zupreem Natural. It was sold out so I bought it. The pieces are very BIG. I have an African Gray that prefers to hold and nibble on his pellets so I figured it wouldn't make much of a difference. It was a deal. I change his plates every day and give the leftovers to wild birds. The blue jays didn't like them either and ended up being eaten at night by raccoons who had a bit of trouble chewing them.

44 years old, Yellow Crowned Revain FINALLY converted from seed

I adopted Alice Q Bird when she was 15 years old. She was caught in the wild in 1969 (I know) and became very addicted to sperm. I've been urging her to switch to healthy "human foods" for years, but I haven't been able to convert her to seeds and have spent over $300 over the years trying everything. Finally! I found it and she LOVES it! She was slightly deficient in vitamin A even though I fed her plenty of organic carrots, but after a month of taking Zupreem's nut mix her legs returned to…

    Cons
    • Some little things

Good price, parrot and cockatoo like it. I like the fact that zoos use this brand - it seems healthier. Mine really likes a bigger dark piece. I have a feeling they are all made from the same ingredients but in different colors and shapes. For some reason I like big chunks and sometimes break them in half, but they treat them like a special treat. I leave some for treats - I called the company to see if I could get their package - they said no. I guess I'm the same way, I love baby carrots more

    Mikey loves it! - Birds

For the past year and a half I've been trying to put a VERY stubborn, VERY spoiled 22-year-old gray parrot on a grainy diet. I've spent sooo much money on every brand of pellet in the world (starting with the most expensive of course >.>) only to spit them out and throw them on the floor in disgust. I was beginning to think he would rather starve himself than eat pellets. :(I had never seen a walnut flavored ZuPreem before it showed up in my Revain recommendations, so I decided to give it

Don't waste money! The 1/4 inch pellets are for parrots, not gray parrots.

The first thing I would like to say is that I NEVER WRITE REVIEWS but I am tired of being lied to. Don't waste money on it. if you expect granules larger than 1/4 inch. The listing says it's for gray parrots but the pellets are so small my gray parrot can't hold them to eat and 99.5% falls through the grate and is wasted but unfortunately my wife opened the bags and poured this Eat in an airtight container. Container so I can't return them. These are not 3/4"-1" bullets which my Gray loves…

Goldilocks Food - great for everyone.

Parrot nutrition is a very complex subject. Almost everyone agrees that good food should be part of a parrot's diet. And Zupreem is the brand I've seen most recommended. I have a Goffin Cockatoo and a Cockatoo and wanted to feed them the same pellets. My cockatoo will accept and eat multiple brands but when I got my eclectus he started flapping his wings when given colored pellets. I've read that Eclectus are very sensitive to granules and especially artificial colors. But she didn't touch…
