I have used several brands and types of beard balm and while I like Initiative Dry Oil Beard Balm it is not " dry' and doesn't smell like 'citrus' and melts in the palm of your hand and is easy to massage into the beard.. that's a big plus.. I've had balms that are almost solid and need a lot of rubbing to get a consistency absorbs into the beard no problem just an observation 3. Smell Unless I received a mislabeled jar mine does NOT smell like citrus If I had to describe the smell it would be like the smell of bedding that you Kind of cedar wood smell Not overpowering but not lemony As with most balms, the noticeable smell usually wears off after about 3 hours after. He's still there, but very weak.
