2012 Explorer - Uncut Blank Car Ignition Key

My OEM keys started to fail, buttons didn't work and wouldn't open or lock remotely. Tried this replacement option to avoid the dealer price but ran out of options. These keys worked great, programmed in less than 1 minute and I'm so glad I saved $220 per key. You must have BOTH original OEM keys to program replacement keys. I asked Home Depot to cut my keys but I didn't cut them properly because their machine is not designed to cut new model keys - their machines only cut keys. I recommend finding a local locksmith to carve the keys the old fashioned way. I lost one of the keys because the HD machine cut it wrong, but it was my fault for asking him to try again with the second key. Most national chains don't want you to bring keys to cut - they want to sell you their keys (HD sells its keys for $69.99 per key). Overall I'm so glad I got a replacement at this price point and programming is so easy a caveman could do it!
