I would give this bike rack 4.5 out of 5 but as there is no half star I'm increasing it to 5. Pros: - It comes pre assembled so you can take it out, unpack, install and inside 30 minutes already on the way. It takes some time to figure out where to place the bike rack, but once you figure it out it takes 10-15 minutes to set up and secure your bike. Quite easy! - Overall the product is well made - it's sturdy and seems to last a long time - we were able to fit 4 bikes on the rack with no problems - 2 fat tire bikes and 2 mountain bikes - we rotated the handles so their bikes could be stacked together. - It's EASY to use - one person can install it without too much trouble and removing the bikes from the rack was a breeze (as for mounting the bikes - see my comment in the cons) - I didn't feel like my Jeep it was weighed down by this bike rack - even with the weight of the rack and 4 bikes. I felt pretty comfortable behind the wheel - there was minimal swaying/squeaking while driving. We still have to take it with us on a long journey. You can use this rack on multiple vehicles so it's not limited to just one car - that's a big plus! Cons: - As others have said, the metal clips were an issue, but I bought the pads for $10 and while they weren't the best, they protected my SUV. I'll try the other hacks mentioned on the next trip: - You CANNOT open your trunk while it's in use, so if you need access to your trunk you'll have to remove the luggage rack and replace the luggage rack - When installing on on an SUV (I have a Jeep Cherokee) it sits quite high. So if you're small like me, lift the bikes over your head to put it on the rack. I have a carbon fiber bike and it wasn't too bad. , my friend's bike, however, I couldn't lift it without his help. Secure your bikes together so they don't crash into each other. We forgot to secure the bikes after our last horseback ride because we were in a hurry to get home and surprisingly the bikes were secure and didn't bounce too much - but better safe than sorry, it would be a shame to have our own bikes. rubbing against each other and destroying the frame - the bottom clips need to be inserted into the groove on the bottom of the trunk and it wasn't very clear - it made me nervous but once we figured it out it was pretty easy and stayed safe - make sure that you take a lock and secure your bikes, it doesn't have the security feature included in the rack - we just used our regular locks and locked the bikes to each other AND to the rack - so if someone really wanted our bikes they either have to use the stuff have to pick the locks or they must try to steal everything. For the price, the pros outweigh the cons. This bike rack is very practical and does its job well. Will take photos to post next time we use the booth.
