This is a fun marble walkway. We have a similar smaller set and the blocks are compatible. The blocks also match the brand blocks (large, not normal). However, there are a few blocks in this set that are smaller than those found in branded sets. There are also small balls. So not suitable for small children. But if you have older kids who have already outgrown those toddler blocks, this marble run set can reignite their interest in them. The instructions are pretty simple. The only thing that confused our 9 year old was that it was difficult to tell exactly where on the baseplates to place some of the lower blocks. And it was only at the top that he noticed that one of them wasn't working in the back, but he couldn't tell which one. Even when I checked directions with him, it was hard for me to tell. So we put it together but I'm not sure if we fixed it by following the instructions or just fixed it. But if it's like our smaller marble walkway, after the first build the kids just make their own projects anyway. . They also use the pieces as playground slides and water slides for their various action figures. Although the blocks are compatible with well-known brand blocks, they are of lower quality. Plastic is cheaper and you have to put stickers on picture blocks instead of printing them out. However, they're also a lot cheaper than branded blocks (which don't even have a ball track!), so this set is well worth it.
