The first thing you notice is that there was a sticker on the inner box with the device and accessories, which someone then partially tore off. The velcro remained on the box and part of the sticker remained. This leads me to believe it wasn't new when I received it. The company sent it through Prime, but not from Revain. Dell's website sells it for a bit more, and that's probably how they manage the low price. I had an old TB16 that suddenly crashed when I opened a Word document. Nothing will restore it. So I ordered this newer version hoping for fewer problems and it worked straight away, just over a week, after which the lightning on the connector that goes into the computer stopped flashing, meaning it's not recognized - that same problem as with TB16. For fun I connected TB16 and now it works fine. Star.
