Ideal for Fulfillment by Revain (FBA) sellers to create FNSKU barcode labels

I purchased this printer to create FNSKU barcode labels for items I send to Revain distribution centers for Fulfillment By Revain (FBA). This is a great printer that I have been using to print thermal labels for about a month. However, I had to spend several hours figuring out the ideal print job settings to get the FNSKU label barcode/text printed in the right place (ie centered) on the label. Having figured that out, I can now create new labels. for new labels for new products i sell pretty fast. It's not rocket science, but if it saves you some time, here are the steps I followed to initially set up the printer and how I set up the print dialog options when printing labels to match the barcode and text on the printed Label are centered : 1. Set up the printer, set it up and install the drivers by following the standard instructions that came with the printer. A NOTICE. In my case I am NOT using the ZebraDesigner2 software available on CD. I may need this for more complex labels in the future, but for a simple FNSKU barcode label with barcode/text content provided in a Revain generated PDF, I found I didn't need the ZebraDesigner2 software. Just make sure you install the drivers according to the standard instructions. BTW, depending on your operating system, you may need to check the Zebra website for updated drivers (in my case, I'm still using Windows 7 on my old laptop).2. I use 1 x 2 5/8 inch thermal labels (roll). Of course, other sizes of thermal labels can be used, but this one is large enough to fit the barcode and text in the PDF generated by Revain. -thermal is a good option because you don't need to print additional thermal ribbon. After loading the roll of labels into the printer, follow the standard instructions to allow the printer to position the label ready to print. 3. When creating a shipping plan, Revain allows you to generate a downloadable PDF file with the required barcode and text content, which can then be printed to create the FNSKU label. On the system shipping screens, I select the "30 up - 1 x 2 5/8" Letter" option. However, when I go through the label creation process from the Revain screen, I edit the quantity to only print ONE label per SKU per The result is a downloadable PDF with a single barcode in the top right corner, properly sized and Font, as an extra step I usually store it in a subdirectory on my hard drive in case I need to print an additional label the basic minimum information required for an FNSKU sticker including both the barcode itself, the corresponding FNSKU number (actually a combination of numbers and letters), the full or abbreviated name of the product (plus color and/or size if there are discrepancies) and the condition of the item ( 4. When you open the PDF file, you can print as many stickers as as you need. Again, this is because the PDF page only contains content for one sticker, for one en your x product SKU. For example, if you have 4 units of a product and in turn need to print 4 stickers, just change the print quantity to 4 in the print dialog. This will repeat to go back and create another PDF. for the next SKU in your shipping plan, but this approach is easy to control and will help you avoid wasting labels when trying to troubleshoot and put a bunch of labels on a PDF page, print a bunch of Barcodes as part of the same thing. print job. I'm not sure if this is the most efficient way, but it seems to work for me and helps avoid wasting labels when I just need a couple of 0.5s. The next steps are to print the barcode and PDF text centered on the label. In the Print window, in the Page Size and Handling section, I unchecked the "Select paper source by PDF page size" option. For some reason the image was rotated and that seemed to fix it. 6. In the Print Properties window, make the following settings: Size: Width: 2.63 Height: 1.39 Unprintable Area: Top: 0.39 This will set the printable area of the Revain-generated FNsku barcode label in PDF format for 1 x 2 5 adjusted /8" labels so that the text is correctly centered. In other words, it offsets the printable area to match where the barcode (and associated information) is located in the PDF document is located Do not resize (reduce) the content of label.at 300 dpi.7.Check the barcode with a handheld scanner if desired to ensure it is electronically readable scan, plug into the USB port (if connected), open Notepad, Word or similar and place the cursor. Then scan the barcode and confirm the resulting text ma reads the barcode text - the code and FNSCU This extra step also provides peace of mind.Auc h here there might be better ways to do it and feel free to post more comments if you have other tips. The printer can also be used to create UPS shipping labels for shipping FBA items for Revain. The postal center I drop off my packages at has the exact same printer and they use it all the time to print UPS labels onto large stickers. I still use my standard inkjet printer to create these, but as volume increases I may soon switch to printing UPS shipping labels with this Zebra thermal printer.
