The manual says the red light flashes when charging and the green light flashes when charging, but that seems wrong. At first it seemed like there was no display at all while charging. However, if you place your hand on the button bar, you will see a very faint red light glow behind the buttons. I completely missed it a few times until I entered this review and came back to check it out. I didn't see it blink, but at least there's something there. When fully charged, a bright blue light will illuminate. This has led to some confusion as to whether or not the device works. The seller stood behind the product and was able to send me a second one and it worked the same way. So don't be alarmed if you don't see anything at first. Otherwise the product works fine. The lighting works great in our small Easy-Set Intex pool when it's dark enough outside. My phone connected to Bluetooth right away and the sound is good enough at a lower volume. I didn't run it to actually test it, but keeping expectations reasonable for a relatively inexpensive device, I was satisfied enough. The dual track/volume buttons are a bit finicky. It works fine for the next track so I just use the volume controls on my phone instead and it works great. If the sound ever gets muffled, simply blow out the water that has collected on top of the speaker vents. It floats well but splashes of water are inevitable. After cleaning the speaker holes it still didn't bother me. Overall this is a good addition to our small pool and we appreciate the good customer service.
