They are great and work exactly as described. They were easy to install and stayed in place. I first wiped the surfaces with an alcohol wipe to remove any residue. They're advertised as products for cats, but they're better than that. My dog isn't allowed in every room and is kept away from closed doors (for the most part), so this works great without having to keep the doors completely closed. It also keeps the cleaning lady away from my office and rooms where I don't need "help" or moving things around. This won't stop a stubborn dog from bursting through the door. These are two plastic hooks that detach and attach to the door with a rubber band. If you want something very strong, maybe buy a different type of latch at a hardware store.
