Simple product, good results

Not much to say about that. These are wooden dowels for filling 3/8 inch diameter holes. I had a project made of walnut. I drilled some shallow 3/8" holes with a forstner bit so I could countersink some screws and poke with real wood instead of using filler. I didn't color this project so the circles would look out of place. After applying some glue to the hole and spreading it around the sides with my finger, I inserted these plugs. I tapped lightly with a mallet and didn't even have to clamp anything - they were held in place because they were clamped tight. However, be careful with the amount of glue you use. I used too much in some of the holes and the glue was leaking out the end of those plugs. It didn't make much of a difference since I could wipe and sand it down, but it did create a little extra work.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
