The replacement clock base is the standard 2 1/4" square base used by many battery dials. I used them to replace a couple of my gift shop clocks that were sitting on a shelf The only missing piece is a set of clock hands with hour hands measuring 3/4" and minute hands measuring 1" to 1 1/4". There is a market where many gift and craft stores sell miniature clocks with dial diameters of 2 1/2" to 4". Cutting to shorten the arms isn't an option, it just doesn't look right due to the proportional size of the dial (thickness of the hour hand) Adding a fifth style set of hands to fill that need would do really versatile.The clock base is silent which allows you to use such a clock in the sleeping areas of the house.No annoying TIC-TOC sound more.
