Lots of spools and different thread colors make it worth it. The whole thing is cheap! The wooden part crosses the thread slightly and feels cheap. I've had a lot of these and this one just seems really cheap. It's fine if you don't intend to use it often, but if you do, I think it wears out quickly. But the extra thread doesn't hurt as the coils are interchangeable.
