I understood the main limitations of this unit when I bought it but was still disappointed when I installed it. The idea is fantastic, but the implementation is comparable to the Hindenburg disaster. Feedback: The app itself definitely needs an overhaul. It's not very intuitive to use, and functions may or may not work depending on the number of cosmic rays and the trajectory of Halley's Comet. - Right now the image of the connected device in the inventory list is just a jack adapter (since all my tools are connected to jack adapters it's not easy to figure out which tool is which). I wish there was a way to determine which tool you are connecting to and change the tool image for easier identification as well as provide information like a manual for that particular tool. - Since we are using this to hide the tool's serial number, we should have a place to store this information in the application in case we need it later. - The activate/deactivate/identify functions do not always work. Even next to a connector, the tools to enable/disable/identify the app only work 70% of the time. - There is a function to turn off the tool when it is out of range, as well as sending an alert through the application. None of these functions work. I enabled these features and left the tools at home. Not only did I not get any notifications, but my wife was able to use them when I was in a completely different city, 30 miles away. - Finally, when the disable function succeeds, all but one of my tools are disabled. For some reason my Workplace LED Spotlight Tool still works without issue when I turn it off in the app. - The "identify" function is definitely missing on both sides. The app takes too long to initiate and only a faint blue light flashes on the adapter. It's totally useless when trying to find your tool. These jacks should have a built in speaker to produce a loud beep for easier searching. - The app needs some work to detect if devices are connected or not. I got to the end of my street (about 350 feet) and the app still thought the devices were connected, even though I couldn't work and work that far (which would explain why the out of range feature never worked. Overall this product, while a great idea, was a complete disaster I hope the developers keep releasing updates and fix all these bugs soon.
