Review on A-Premium Hood Lift Supports Shock Struts Replacement: Toyota Land Cruiser Landcruiser 100 Series 1998-2007 LX470 by Dave Hersma

Excellent quality and durability. installation problems.

Installs it on my Toyota Land Cruiser. Excellent quality. Very strong hold when fully extended. In fact, after the initial manual lift, the hood will rise about 6 inches. Installation was more difficult than I expected as my old props were about 1/2 inch shorter than these new props when fully extended, resulting in the new props not fitting. As before, I left the old right brace in place while I installed the new left brace. After trying to fit the new brace and the hood would not move due to the grip and length of the old brace, the solution was to remove both old braces while holding the hood with a stick. This made it easy to adjust the hood up and down to accommodate the new A-pillars. There are no instructions for these racks, so you'll have to find out. Including how to remove the old racks with spring clips holding the bushings on the balls. The solution is to pry off the clips with a flat head screwdriver. Then use a screwdriver to pry the bushings out of the balls. Then we unscrew the old balls from the machine.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Vulgarity
