Perfect Fit Easy Install

Perfect fit for my 1999 Land Cruiser. I recommend installing the bottom end (inside the engine) first, otherwise it will be more difficult to align the top end, leaving room for cross threads remains. 20 minutes to install, they lift that heavy hood with authority. It's only day 1 so no comment on durability yet.

Pros
  • Easy Install
Cons

The only way to improve them is to install them yourself

They fit perfectly. Easy to install with a 12mm wrench. I think I've spent 10 minutes on one shock (including removing the old shocks). Exact OEM replacement at a fraction of the price. If your hood falls on your head, don't hesitate any longer and buy it NOW! Can't confirm durability but they are substantial and appear to be about as good as the OEMs they replaced.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Works best on shock absorbers, struts and suspension

I was a little concerned when some buyers pointed out that they are shorter than OEM but they seem fine to me. Easy installation. It would be nice if the washer/nut flange was the same diameter as the original, but that's not really a problem. They are for the hood, not the rear tailgate, which have different ends. The real test will be how long they last, but so far they seem good.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • No performance

The elevators work great! - Shocks, Struts and Suspension

Just in time to replace the bonnet lifters on my LX470. The original jacks were worn out and could fall off when I was working under the hood. I bought these lifts and replaced old worn out lifts. It worked! I can't work under a hood and not worry about the hood falling on me. One item I noticed is about 3/4 inch shorter. It's not noticeable as the open hood leaves plenty of room to work.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Almost never

Direct fit, easy installation

It was a perfect match for the 1999 LX470. 12mm around the perimeter to remove the drain. The Original Equipment hood jack nuts are thinner, so you will need to use a thinner wrench to remove them. After that, it's easy to install! Tailgate lifter straight 12mm socket remove and reuse for replacement. I recommend screwing on the top of the hood first and then the bottom. When it comes to the trunk lid, I recommend screwing it on at the bottom first, then at the top.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Sturdy and strong but not OEM quality

Racks look like OEM. Stable and robust, but definitely not OEM quality. When the stand is fully extended, it makes a grinding noise. Both racks will do. You can't beat the price if you're willing to consider some quality issues. I really hope this isn't the case, but I know it could damage the stem and potentially cut through the inner seal and shorten its lifespan. If I can take a few years off, I skip it.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Expensive

Do you have a key for 12? This is the best and easiest upgrade.

I have just received a low mileage 2000 Land Cruiser and MUST make this purchase. When I first looked under the hood, it opened wide and as soon as I tried to pull out the dipstick, the hood fell on me with a quick bang. Funny but painful. Of course, you could carve a broom to do the job, or you could buy this one. All you need is a 12mm wrench. I also bought sunroof racks as a precaution. Once bitten. . .

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Security

Excellent quality and durability. installation problems.

Installs it on my Toyota Land Cruiser. Excellent quality. Very strong hold when fully extended. In fact, after the initial manual lift, the hood will rise about 6 inches. Installation was more difficult than I expected as my old props were about 1/2 inch shorter than these new props when fully extended, resulting in the new props not fitting. As before, I left the old right brace in place while I installed the new left brace. After trying to fit the new brace and the hood would not move due to…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Vulgarity
