Size 8 is a bit loose
My 8 year old son is average height and slightly thinner. The waist is a little loose but doesn't drop which is why he wears it. The length is great and the loose legs are perfect for an active toddler. That will probably be enough for him for a while.

- My son loves these. They are comfortable unlike some of the shorts we have tried before. Highly recommended
Cons
- My son is 9 years old, I ordered size 10 but unfortunately it fits 8 years!
