This U-joint is an excellent solution to eliminate early and subsequent misfits of the HMMWV drive shaft to the flange. The problem we had was that the later drive shaft (which uses Spicer 5-213X) did not match the axle input flange (which uses Dana Spicer 1-0153 [per TM9-2320-280-24P]). This is the right gimbal for that discrepancy. In addition, this gimbal is used on many Ford factory installations, so you don't have to worry about the joint failing. Bottom line: If you're using later driveshafts on an earlier HMMWV, this is the drivetrain you need.
